Antique 18-karat ruby diamond and pearl bee brooch pin, circa 1880. The brooch with a baroque pearl body, wings set with ten cushion purple red rubies and eighteen old mine cut diamonds respectively, the eyes inset with small cabochon rubies, the head with black enamel. Pin and safety catch clasp to reverse. Gold tested 18-karat. Total diamond weight: Approximately 2.00 carat. Total ruby weight: Approximately 1.00 carat. Total item weight: 7.61 grams. Measures: 1.5 x 1.0 inches.
