Antique French Silver Art Nouveau Compact C.1900.  Beautifully designed mistletoe on both cover and reverse leaves in high relief against a plain ground. The design exemplifies the fluid, organic style characteristic of Art Nouveau jewelry from the early 1900s. The locket opens to reveal two compartments for mirror and further gilded interior compartment opened with blue cabochon side thumbpiece for either powder or keepsakes. Extremely good condition. Several French boar marks and also marked to interior compartment flange. Maker’s mark in lozenge (unable to decipher). Measures: 2.00 x 1.90 inches. Weight: 46.65 grams.
